The original plan for this Gucci Beauty shoot with Luisa Piou was to work in natural light. Early in the shoot, we realized it wasn’t giving the product enough definition. The cosmetics needed stronger reflections and more controlled highlights to stand out in the frame.

As the weather changed, I switched to the backup studio lights I had brought. That let me shape the light around both Luisa and the product, bringing out the finish and specular highlights while keeping the beauty portraits consistent.

I handled photography and video, adapting the lighting approach during production to give the Gucci Beauty products the presence they needed across stills and motion.
